On July 27th, in Centennial Olympic Park, at 1:25 am, there has been a catastrophe. There was a bomb that exploded which injured one hundred and eleven people and killed Alice S. Hawthorne who brought her daughter to the Olympics for her birthday. Most of the injured victims only had minor wounds, but eleven people were hospitalized, and two underwent surgery. At that time, they believed the bombing was an act of domestic terrorism. Even after the bombing, the Olympics officials made the call that the Olympics would continue the next day. The Olympics had high spirits the next day as if the bombing did not happen.
Two years later, it was discovered that Alabama man Eric Robert Rudolph, was the one who set of the bomb in the attempt to cancel the Olympics. This man was discovered by a rookie policeman in Murphy, North Carolina. He was tried and has been sentenced to a lifetime in prison. According to records, Rudolph has a history for bombs which made it easy to trace him.
