Atlanta Committee for the Olympic Games CEO Billy Payne, was the one who proposed the idea of the old rundown part of Atlanta to be turned into a gorgeous gathering for the 1996 Atlanta Olympics called Centennial Olympic Park. This funding was greatly supported by the state and became a complete success for the Atlanta Olympics. About $75 millions dollars worth of fundraising was donated to the creation of Centennial Olympic Park, and the creation was a success to the Olympics. Even though the park appeared to be apart of the games, it was not a part of the tight Olympic security system. Thus, leading to the tragic catastrophe of the domestic terrorist bombing during the games at this magnificent legacy of the Centennial Olympic Games.
